Course Objectives:

Upon Completion of this course the student will be able to:

    Conceive ideas about a topic for the purpose of writing literary analyses.

    Organize, select, and relate ideas and develop them in coherent paragraphs and essays.

    Vary writing styles, including vocabulary and sentence structure, for different readers and purposes.

    Improve writing by restructuring, revising, and editing.

    Demonstrate knowledge of conventions and rhetoric of literary analysis (which will include documentation).

Course Outline:

    Write two short literary analyses.

    Write one long research paper.

    Learn conventions of writing literary analyses.

    Learn library research skills.

    Improve documentations skills.


 

Course Requirements:

    Complete all Units of Learning

    Submit a written assignment 

    Participate in Peer Review and discussion on class list.

    Each unit in this course is expected to take eight to ten hours of work for the student to complete. This estimate is based on an average student and includes reviewing material on line, from the text, and discussions in group.  
    You are expected to either complete assignments during the times indicated in the course outline or close to it. 
    THIS IS NOT A SELF-PACED COURSE.
