Getting Started:
The chapter on making a portfolio gives exmaples of how to use self-reflection
in situations such as applying for a position or gaining entrance to a school.
Being able to do honest self-evaluation is a key to entry in many fields.

Read these sections from: (BR) and (PEN)

BR)   Subjective writing / narrative style, p. 76 and 144.
(PEN):  CH. 7 Writing to Reflect, pp. 75-86.

* Do not complete the exercises listed in these chapters (unless you really want to).

Start writing...

Try one or more of these Modes of Development:

List your strengths and weaknesses as a writer, a student, a member
of a community.

Compare before and after.  before you started college and now, for example.
Trace a process such as how you overcame a barrier in your life and those
barriers or "boxes" that still hem you in.

REVISION TIP: After you tell about you, think of a specific HIGH STAKES
audience and rewrite to suit that audience (amployer, grad school, etc.)  Delete
what is not needed from draft 1.  Use the model E5 below as a guide.
