Argument Paper

Working with sources:

Let instructor know your topic via email as soon as you have it for help on how to
collect and evaluate your source materials.  Topics vary widely in the types of
sources tha are available to support your thesis statement.  And remember that
you need articles representing all sides, as well as from the position that you
       have taken.

Levels of sources:  ideally, your sources should be those most appropriate to
       your topic.

If your topic is about the rating of a sports figure, you should not worry too
much about getting theoretical articles from scholarly journals.  But consider
this: even such a topic as the rating of Mickey Mantle versus Babe Ruth as
historic baseball players may be found in journals that take a theoretical
look at culture.  If your topic is on levels of fishing and their effects on marine
life in coastal waters off Alaska, you should include newpapers reports and
that level, as well as professional journals on the subject.

Why?  Because such issues are part of a democratic society and we should
all be in on such decisions-making.  Critique how well you think the popular
journals prepare the public to make such decisions.
